I Just Had My Windows Tinted - What to Expect

See some common questions and answers below

  • Drying time:

Your new window film will take about 3 to 5 days to fully cure, sometimes a lot longer depending on film type, and weather conditions. it’s normal for your windows to appear  hazy, streaky, or bubbly. It will go away once fully dry.

Do not roll your tinted windows down until dry!

  • Cleaning your tinted windows:

Window film may be cleaned with a soft clean microfiber cloth and alcohol based cleaner or plain water. Ammonia products should not be used.

  • Enjoy the benefits of your window tint immediately!

Once your tint has fully dried and you’ve safely cleaned your windows, you can relax and enjoy the benefits of window tinting, which include:

UV-blocking protection for your skin and eyes

Less glare and better visibility while driving

Less interior fading and leather cracking

No cellphone or radio signal interference

No flying shards of glass if you’re in an accident

Dark windows to deter would-be intruders

    A cooler, more comfortable interior

  • Are Scratches, Dings, and Seat Belt Chips Covered By the Warranty?

No. Watch out for your seatbelt, rings, watches,  and other items in your car that could hit your windows and create dings or scratches. Make sure to be careful with your seatbelt buckle when releasing it!  Your warranty covers bubbling, peeling, and de-lamination when proper aftercare is adhered to. This includes refraining from rolling your windows down for a minimum of 2- 10 days post install. Customer damage, scratches, and metal rubs are not covered by your warranty.

  • It’s normal to see bubbles or hazy windows at first.

Even after a professional window tint, you may see a few tiny bubbles under the film and a haze on the glass. Streaks, haze, and bubbles are a normal part of the window tint drying process, so don’t worry! Bubbles can occur as moisture forms between the window and the film, but they will evaporate within a few days.

While your window tint dries, it will still protect you and your car from UV rays, would-be intruders, and flying glass (in the event of an accident). So even though you have to be patient for the film to dry and for those bubbles to go away, you’ll get to enjoy the benefits of window tinting right after your service.

  • Is window film damage proof.

Tinting your windows makes them scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. So you’ll still want to be gentle when moving sharp objects, boxes, and sports equipment around your interior. And don’t forget to take your seatbelt off carefully. This will keep the metal buckle from flying back and chipping your window tint.

You also shouldn’t roll down the windows right after your tint service, as this can lift the film from the glass before it’s had time to cure. But once the film has completely dried (two to four days in the summer, or 7 to 10 days in the winter), you can roll your windows down again.

  • Quality Control & Imperfections:

Your satisfaction is our number one priority, and we take every pre-caution within our control to ensure the cleanest possible install.

Despite all of these measures, due to the nature of window film, weather conditions, various glass imperfections, how clean you keep your interior and other variables out of our control, we cannot completely prevent the possibility of dirt and airborne dust from creating minor imperfections on your installation. Pre-existing scratches,  hard water spots or metal deposits in your glass may also be more noticeable after your windows are tinted. To reduce these imperfections, we highly recommend thoroughly cleaning your vehicle (inside and out) before your window film installation. This helps us provide the highest-quality installation possible. Alternatively, tint your car as soon as you buy it or straight after cleaning it. The newer the car, the fewer imperfections.

Please note that pre-existing silver streaks, also known as “metal rubs” may also become more apparent after your installation. These imperfections occur when metal objects like baby strollers and ladders touch your glass while driving. In addition, you may notice excess light reflecting off your defogger lines (usually found on the rear window). While this intensity varies from vehicle to vehicle, it is unavoidable because the film is bending to fit around your defoggers.

  • Now that you know what to expect after tinting your windows, you can:

Enjoy driving in style and comfort.

Protect your car’s windows and interior.

Stay safe from intruders, the sun, and more.

Maintain a beautiful window tint for years to come.

You’ll be amazed by the way your vehicle looks after a professional window tint service, and you’ll love getting behind the wheel again!
